October 5-12, 2019
This workshop will introduce you to some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, from the scenic mountains, glens, and lochs of Glencoe to the rugged mountain ranges and dramatic coastline of Skye. Along with our local driver/guide (a resident of Skye and a talented photographer who knows the region like only a local can), we’ll put you in the best spots at each location, and we’ll get you there in the best light available.
We plan to maximize our time on location, shooting as much as conditions permit. But we’ll also include in-the-field teaching and demonstrations, ongoing image reviews, as well as informal lessons and processing instruction when we’re not out shooting.
We invite you to join us on this photographic adventure and find out why Scotland is one of the top bucket-list destinations for landscape photographers.
If you have any questions about this workshop, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
A deposit of $1,500 is required to confirm your registration; the balance of $2,850 is due June 1, 2019.
Limited to 10 participants to ensure you receive personalized attention throughout the workshop.
Register early so you don’t miss out.

GENERAL INFORMATION & ITINERARY
Saturday, October 5 (Travel Day)
Travel to Glasgow, Scotland (typically an evening departure from Canada, arriving the next morning).
Note: If you choose to arrive a day or two early to spend time in Glasgow and to adjust to the new time zone before the workshop, you’ll need to be at the airport (or an airport hotel) for pick-up on the morning of Day 1.
Sunday, October 6 (Day 1)
You will arrive in Glasgow early in the morning following your overnight flight from Canada. Unlike many workshops that require you to arrange your own transportation to the Highlands, we’ll pick you up at the airport and take you to our first night’s accommodation in Glencoe. After checking in, we’ll have time to rest before we head out for a sunset shoot. Shooting locations on our agenda while we’re in Glencoe include Blackrock Cottage, Three Sisters, Glen Etive, and Rannoch Moor.
Accommodation: Bridge of Orchy Hotel
Monday, October 7 (Day 2)
We’ll start the day with a sunrise/morning shoot in Glencoe before continuing our journey to Skye. Along the way, we’ll stop at Glenfinnan for the panoramic view of Loch Shiel and the viaduct made famous in Harry Potter films. We’ll then travel by ferry to Skye and end the day with a sunset shoot.
Accommodation: Uig Hotel
Tuesday, October 8 to Thursday, October 10 (Days 3-5)
Three full days on Skye will give us the opportunity to explore many iconic photo locations, such as the Quiraing and Trotternish Ridge, Old Man of Storr, Fairy Glen, Neist Point, Talisker Bay, Sligachan, and Elgol. We’ll also include some lesser-known locations that most people don’t get to experience. Our extended stay will also allow us the luxury of being spontaneous with our itinerary to ensure we’re at the best locations for the light and weather conditions each day.
Accommodation: Uig Hotel
Friday, October 11 (Day 6)
We’ll begin our final day of the workshop with a sunrise/morning shoot on Skye before we head back to Glasgow. On the way, we’ll visit Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. We’ll arrive in Glasgow at the end of the day, where you can be dropped off at the airport or an airport hotel.
Note: If you are returning home immediately following the workshop, flights to Canada depart early the next morning and you will need to book a room at one of the airport hotels (recommendations can be provided).
Saturday, October 12 (Travel Day)
Depart Glasgow (typically an early morning flight that will arrive in Canada by mid-afternoon).
